BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 1. New members will be appointed to the Board of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) to achieve the set goals within the framework of the CBA strategy, the bank's Governor Taleh Kazimov said during a press conference on refinancing rates in Baku today, Trend reports.
“The board has been working for more than two years in a limited composition - with three members. Implementing the strategy that we announced at the beginning of 2024 will be a difficult task for three people. In order to achieve the set goals, new members will be appointed to the board,” he emphasized.
To note, the item "On the appointment and dismissal of members of the Board of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan" was the hot topic at today's meeting of the Committee on Economic Policy, Industry, and Entrepreneurship of the Azerbaijani Parliament.
The meeting put its cards on the table, suggesting that Toghrul Aliyev, Gular Pashayeva, Ali Ahmadov, and Vusal Khalilov be brought on board as members of the CBA Board.
Simultaneously, the meeting suggested that Rashad Orujov be relieved of his responsibilities as a member of the CBA board.
