France's Opinionway research company conducted a public opinion survey in Azerbaijan on the eve of the upcoming parliamentary election in the country. The survey was based on 1,200 registered voters.
It was revealed that 58 percent of respondents said the things in Azerbaijan are going on in the right direction, and 22.9 percent answered that things are going in the wrong direction. Furthermore, 19.1 percent didn't want to answer the question.
As for question on "how does the economic situation change recently in Azerbaijan?", the answers were as following: 54.1 percent of respondents - "getting better", 28.2 percent - "doesn't' change", and 9.3 percent - "getting worse", while 8.4 percent of the respondents couldn't answer.
The answers to the question "to what extent are you satisfied with the current situation of the following spheres?" were as following:
- Ensuring national security: 71.4 percent - "very satisfied", 10.8 percent - "not satisfied", 17.8 percent -"I don't know".
- Fight against crime: 68.4 percent - "very satisfied", 16.9 percent - "not satisfied", 14.7 percent - "I don't know".
- Human rights record: 69.8 percent - "very satisfied", 12.5 percent - "not satisfied", 17.7 percent - "I don't know".
- Education level: 48.8 percent - "very satisfied", 41.3 percent - "not satisfied", 9.9 percent - "I don't know".
- Fight against corruption: 71.2 percent - "very satisfied", 18.1 percent - "not satisfied", 10.7 percent - "I don't know".
- Job opportunities: 51.8 percent - "very satisfied", 11.8 percent - "not satisfied", 18.2 percent - "I don't know".
Moreover, according to the survey, 41.2 percent of respondents are very interested in the upcoming parliamentary election.
The answers of the respondents to the question on "To what extent are you satisfied with the work of political system in the Azerbaijan Republic?" were as following: 50.8 percent - "very satisfied", 21.9 percent - "partly satisfied", 14.7 percent - "not satisfied", 12.6 percent - "I don't know".
Answering the question on "To what extent are you satisfied with the implementation of presidential duties by President Ilham Aliyev?", the respondents noted: 78.8 percent - "very satisfied", 11.8 percent - "partly satisfied", 5 percent - "partly not satisfied", 2.9 percent - "not satisfied at all", and 1.5 percent - "I don't know".
As for the question on "What are the most important problems in Azerbaijan?" the respondents were allowed to choose 2 options:
Nagorno-Karabakh - 66.5 percent
Economy - 30.8 percent
Education - 23.3 percent
Human rights - 9 percent
Environment - 11.7 percent
Multiple taxes - 8.5 percent
National security - 1.7 percent
I don't know - 6.3 percent
The answers to the question on "To what extent you are interested in the pre-electoral campaign on the eve of the parliamentary election?" were as following:
Very interested - 41.2 percent
Partly interested - 35.3 percent
Almost not interested - 9.6 percent
Not interested - 11.5 percent
I don't know - 2.4 percent
Moreover, 63 percent of the respondents said they'll certainly participate in the parliamentary election, 12 percent will probably participate, 7.7 percent probably will not participate, and 9 percent will not participate at all. This is while 8.3 percent of the respondents haven't decided yet.
Answering the question "Are you satisfied with the activities of the MP from your constituency?", the respondents said: 39.6 percent - fully satisfied, 33.8 percent - partly satisfied, 10.8 percent - partly not satisfied, 9.8 percent - not satisfied at all, and 6 percent - I don't know.
The answers to the question on "Which political force do you intend to support during the parliamentary election?" were as following:
The ruling party or candidate from pro-governmental party - 71.7 percent
Candidate from opposition party - 6 percent
Neutral candidate - 16.4 percent
I don't know - 5.9 percent
This is while 71 percent of the respondents would like to have the same MP elected, having regarded the last parliamentary election and 22.3 percent would like to have another MP elected, while 6.7 percent of the respondents couldn't answer the question.
The answers to "What are your main sources of information?" were as following:
Pro-governmental newspapers - 31.1 percent
Opposition newspapers - 11 percent
Independent newspapers - 28.4 percent
Azerbaijan State Television (AzTV) - 41 percent
Public Television - 38.3 percent
Private television channels - 67.9 percent
State radio channels - 17.4 percent
Private radio channels - 9.5 percent
