Trend:

Executive secretary of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party Ali Ahmadov declared the parliamentary election held in the country legitimate.

The parliamentary election was fair and transparent, according to Ahmadov.

"Azerbaijani citizens actively participated in the election," he said, adding that according to the preliminary data, over 55 percent of the voters participated in the election.

No serious violations of law were recorded which shows that Azerbaijan holds democratic and transparent elections, according to Ahmadov.

He noted that the New Azerbaijan Party has more chances in the election.

"We believe that our candidates will achieve great success," said Ahmadov. "The CEC will carry out checking in connection with the preliminary results of the election and we believe that they will coincide with the results of the exit poll."

Ahmadov pointed out that in general, the election was held in normal conditions which show Azerbaijan's success in the election sphere.

"The policy pursued by President Ilham Aliyev shows the people's great trust in the authorities and the state," he said, adding that this trust was reflected in today's election as well.

"I congratulate all of you with another successful election held in Azerbaijan," Ahmadov added.

He believes that 70 candidates from the New Azerbaijan Party will win as a result of the election.

Commenting on the information spread in social networks about shortcomings during the election, Ali Ahmadov said that CEC will study it and announce the results.

This information can also be aimed at casting shadow on the election process, he added.
