About 2 million square meters of Azerbaijani territory was cleared from mines and unexploded ammunition in June, the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) said.
As a result of operations about 2,700 unexploded ammunition and eight antitank mines and one anti-personal mine were found and neutralized.
About 480 experts participated and 120 assistants, as well as the six mechanical demining machines and 32 mine-detection dogs participated in the operations.
So far the agency cleared 164 million square meters of land, found and neutralized 662,000 mines and unexploded ammunition.
ANAMA operates in Agdam, Agjabadi, Barda, Tartar, Goranboy, Yevlakh, Shamkir and Fuzuli regions, as well as Garadag district of Baku.
