Azerbaijan, Baku, Dec. 28 / Trend E.Mehtiev /

Vice-Speaker of the Milli Majlis (Azerbaijani parliament) and member of the political council of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party Bahar Muradova, stated that dialogue between the government and opposition will be possible in Azerbaijan in 2013.

Answering a question concerning uniting the government and the opposition, Muradova noted that it was impossible.

"I do not believe the opposition and the authorities should unite. Power is power, opposition is opposition. The government is a political structure that has won the election, defines the policy of the country and manages all aspects. Opposition is represented through parties that offer an alternative position, or, if they exist, alternative programmes," Muradova said.

According to her, this is the reason why the illusion of uniting government and opposition should be eliminated.

What is necessary are discussing these or those issues and adopting decisions corresponding to national interests, Muradova said.
