OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairs Urge Azerbaijani

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend A.Ismayilova / The OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs from Russia, the United States and France have issued a statement in Belgrade on the results of the meeting between the Azerbaijani and Armenian Foreign Ministers, Elmar Mammadyarov and Vartan Oskanian.

A document released by the OSCE Baku Office states that the talks focused on major principles in the resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict which was proposed by the mediators.

The co-chairs noted that the partiesare driving the process closer to the point where it has progressed to discussions involving the Presidents Ilham Aliyev and Robert Kocharian.

The co-chairs will visit the region in May and hold talks with both Presidents so as to organize additional meetings. The mediators are certain that the meeting will accomplish major issue principles and instigate the development of the overall agreement which will pave the way towards long-term peace and stability in the region.

The co-chairs have underlined the importance by the Azerbaijan and Armenian leaders for peace amongst both countries and call on taking measures to assist in establishing that confidence.
