International Organizations Should State their Positions on Fires in Azerbaijan’s Occupied Territory – Senior State Officer

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend S.Agayeva / Azerbaijan intends to appeal to international organizations, as well as countries in connection with fires which have been started in the Armenian-occupied territory of Azerbaijan.

Novruz Mammadov, the head of the foreign Relations Department of the Azerbaijan President's Executive Power, told journalists in Baku that Azerbaijan demands that they declare a fair position on the issue.

" Armenia has repeatedly been provocative by starting fires in the areas, which they later described as a result of spontaneous ignition. The Azerbaijani NGOs and representations of international organizations active in Baku should state their positions on this issue,' Mammadov stressed.

The starting of fires in the Armenian-occupied Azerbaijani territory first occurred last summer, damaging an area covering 1,000sq m. Currently, the fires were discovered yesterday in the occupied regions of Azerbaijan, namely Fizuli and Goranboy.
