An inmate has been killed during an uprising in a juvenile prison in the Russian city of Kirovograd. A security guard reportedly opened fire as a group of prisoners tried to get over a barrier.
According to ITAR-TASS news agency correspondent Dmitry Vasiliev:
"Twelve people have been injured in a juvenile prison in the Sverdlovsk region. According to the Federal Penitentiary Service in the region, the inmates of the Kirovograd prison set former prison staff on fire. As a result, six prison workers and six inmates were injured. All of them are being treated by medics. None of the inmates managed to escape and no firearms had been captured by them". ( RT )
