No Azerbaijanis Amongst Dead in  Airplane Crash in   Turkey

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. K.Ramazanova / There were no Azerbaijanis amongst the passengers who died in the crash of the Turkish private airliner AtlasJetair on 30 November, Sayad Arasli, the Consul General of Azerbaijan in Turkey in the interview from Istanbul.

Fifty-six passengers died in the crash, AtlasJetair's official representative, Tunjai Doganar, reported.

The airplane disappeared from its radar screen several minutes before it was due to land at the airport in Ispart city, Turkey. The wreckage of the airplane was discovered and military helicopters and rescue workers have been sent to the site.

Conditions at the time of the accident were not considered abnormal and no technical problems aboard the aircraft were reported, Doganar said.

The airport has established a crisis centre in Ispart and a hot line has been opened for those requiring information.
