A fire took place in the forest in the southern region of Azerbaijan, the Ecology and Natural Rescores Ministry said today.
According to the information, the fire took place Yardimli Region Forest Protection and Restoration Enterprise's forest state farm Dec.13.
According to the preliminary data, the fire took place due to hunters or shepherds' carelessness.
The fire was fully extinguished at 16:00 by the Ecology and Natural Rescores Ministry's local structures and peoples' help.
In total, only dry leaves and grass coat burned during the fire which covered an area of 5 ha.
The Ecology and Natural Rescores Ministry once again calls on people to observe rules of fire protection and protect our forests, which are national wealth.
Over the last month four fires took place in forests in Azerbaijan.
