Evacuation of residents of two nine-storey buildings, located between General Shikhlinski street and Ganja Avenue in Khatai district of Baku, due to the threat of landslide completed, correspondent of Trend reported from the scene.

Baku mayor Hajibala Abutalybov told reporters that landslide is not danger. "Residents evacuated till the complete explanation of the effects of geological processes," - he said.

Abutalybov said that the residents to return to their homes in a week. "Supply of electricity, water and gas to the building interrupted. Residents who are nowhere to stay, will be placed in appropriate apartments," - he said.

Abutalybov also reported that vaults of 58 buildings located in the area of ​​the landslide tested. During the test, only one of the buildings were identified water seepage. To prevent this the necessary steps were carried out.

Abutalybov also noted that the issue of illegal buildings in the area will be considered.

Chief Engineer of complex expedition of Hydrogeology and Engineering Geology of the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources Shaig Niftiyev told Trend that landslide activated, cracks increases. According to him, geological works will start in the area of landslide tomorrow.

100 vehicles with soil will be delivered to landslide area to strengthen the soil.

The residential area located between General Shikhlinski street and Ganja Avenue in Khatai district of Baku is considered an active landslide area.
