Hazrat Rugayya mosque collapsed last night in the Iranian capital Tehran, resulting in the deaths of eight people, a large number of people was injured, the Iranian news website TABNAK said on Saturday.
The cause of the collapse is an excavation work carried out near the mosque for the construction of a multistory building. The foundation of an ancient mosque has been damaged in the result of this work.
All the injured were taken to nearby hospitals.
