Residents of Turkey’s border region injured by shooting in Syria

Shots from armed clashes between the Free Syrian Army and the Syrian government forces have reached Turkey's border area, Sabah newspaper wrote on Thursday.

According to the newspaper, three Turkish citizens residing in the Ceylanpinar region of the Sanliurfa province were injured as a result of the shooting.

The exchange of fire took place near the Turkish border between the members of the Free Syrian Army and Syria's government forces. The injured were taken to the nearest hospitals.

Clashes between government forces and armed opposition have been continuing in Syria for over two years. According to UN statistics, the total number of victims of the Syrian conflict exceeds 100,000. The Syrian authorities say they are opposed by the well-armed militants.
