Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. Trend S.Ilhamgizi / On 26 September, President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev received the delegation of the California State Senate led by Senator Sheila Kuehl.
Ilham Aliyev said Azerbaijani-American relations are on a high level, and added that the two countries have success in cooperating in a number of fields including politics, economy, energy, and regional security. The President stressed the United States' support of global energy projects of which Azerbaijan is an initiator and participant.
The Azerbaijani leader said he believes that after the California Senate delegation's current visit, bilateral relations between his country and the US will strengthen.
Sheila Kuehl said members of her delegation are satisfied with their visit to Azerbaijan.
She stressed they have learned about the realities of Azerbaijan during their visit, and vowed to use their knowledge to further boost the two countries' bilateral ties.
