GUAM Foreign Ministers to Hold another Meeting by the end of 2007

Azerbaijan, Baku. corr Trend S.Agaeva / The next meeting of the foreign ministers of the Organization for Democracy and Economic Development - GUAM ( Georgia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Moldavia) will be held within the next meeting of the Foreign Ministers Council (FMC) of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) in Madrid in November.

The Foreign Ministers made this decision during the fourth meeting of the GUAM FMC in New York during the 62nd of the UN General Assembly.

The ministers considered further joint activities of GUAM member-countries on the issue of Lingering conflicts in the territory of GUAM and their results for the worldwide peace, safety and development, which is included in agenda of the assembly and decided to continue the consultations over advancing the draft resolution on this problem and mobilization of UN member-countries to support it, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said.

The ministers discussed the commencement of work and formation of the council

With the consideration of the Energy Summit to be held in Vilnius on October10-11.

The ministers also mulled organization of a meeting of the heads of state of GUAM, dedicated to the 10th Anniversary of the Organization.

It was also decided to hold a meeting of the GUAM FMC for inauguration of the council in Kiev at the beginning of 2008.
