Immigration Policy of CIS Countries Discussed in Dushanbe

Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. Trend A.Gasimova / A meeting of the CIS member-countries took place in Dushanbe which discussed the immigration policy of the CIS countries. The meeting was opened by the President of Tajikistan, Emomali Rakhmonov. The meeting coordinated the work of the immigration organizations of the CIS countries and during it participants also decided to create a database of labor immigrants.

Kazakhstan suggested that an annual discussion be held on certain topics. It was decided that next year's meeting host the topic of development of transport potential of the CIS countries. A special working group will be established for it.

The State Heads conferred a CIS Order of Honour to the President of Tajikistan. The CIS Summit is taking place in Dushanbe. The Summit's participants include the Presidents of Russia, Tajikistan, Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Georgia, Azerbaijan, and Moldova as well as the Foreign Minister of the Ukraine.
