Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. E.Huseynov / Drivers of 350 automobiles were fined as a result of checks held by policemen in Baku, Vagif Asadov, the police chief of the State Traffic Police at the Central Police Station of Baku, said on 23 October.
The Azerbaijani traffic bill prohibits installment of dark screening slides in automobiles in any size and shape. The Azerbaijani President, Ilham Aliyev, ordered to take off dark screening slides from automobiles during the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers dedicated to the results of the socio-economic development within nine months 2007.
According to Asadov, some officials of the country violate the bill. Protecting drivers they threaten traffic police and meddle in their work.
The traffic checks will be held to 25 October.
