Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend I.Alizade / The President of Public Forum "For Azerbaijan" is preparing for the participation in 2008 presidential elections, Eldar Namazov said.
"Organization work and discussions on different levels are carried out for my participation in the elections as a candidate," he said. He will publicize the final decision on this issue in two weeks.
Namazov was the head of the Azerbaijani President's Secretariat in 1993 - 1999. In Autumn of 1999 he resigned and got involved in public activities as independent political expert. He set up the Public Forum "For Azerbaijan"and participated in the 2005 parliamentary elections.
The leader of several Azerbaijani opposition parties said about their participation in the presidential elections scheduled for 15 October, 2008.
