GUAM and Japan to Meet in Tokyo

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. S.Agayeva / The prospects of cooperation between the Organization for Democracy and Economic Development GUAM (Georgia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Moldova) and Japan is discussed in Tokyo on 5 December, the Azerbaijani Internal Ministry reported.

GUAM intends to develop relations with Japan on the base of interests in energy and economy fields, the General Director of GUAM Valeri Chechalashvili, stated in the interview with journalists, ITAR-TASS reported.

The meeting is represented by Deputy Foreign Ministers of GUAM member-countries.

The first meeting was held in Baku in June 2007.
