Russia, Moscow /corr. Trend R.Agayev / "The First Vice Prime Minister of Russia, Dimitry Medvedev, will become the next President of Russia," the Russian politician, advisor of the Russian Parliament's Defense Committee, Grigori Trofimchuk, is sure by 200 percent.

On 10 December four parties which collected more than 75% of the votes during the parliamentary elections in Russia on 2 December suggested to nominate Dimitry Medvedev for the presidency. The President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, supported this initiative.

Trofimchuk reported to Trend on 11 December that undoubtedly President Putin's political way will be continuing. It was highlighted already before the parliamentary elections. "The chances that Dimitry Medvedev will be the next President of Russia are 200%. There are no doubts on it because the mechanism has been devised for already long," the expert said.

According to the politician, it is difficult to say how the situation will change because it depends not only on Russia, but also outside forces like NATO, European Union. In this regard, the situation for Russia will be seriously worsening because this negative foreign-policy dynamic is progressing for Russia. "The main fact is that how the character of the head, personal concentration of the concrete man will correspond to the situation," the politician said.

"Vladimir Putin corresponded to this situation, he somehow followed these processes, softer approaches, to which Dimitry Medvedev is also inclined initially," he said.

Touching upon the unfavorable foreign-policy dynamic for Russia, Trofimchuk said that the most serious illustration characterizing the negative dynamic for Russia is the situation with Kosovo. The politician is sure that exactly this model will be applied beyond Russia to other autonomies which exist in the post Soviet territory.

"Here Russia will stumble on underwater stones, especially Russia itself initiated the independence of these autonomies. The situation is different in each concrete situation, but Russia directly participated in it and therefore, it is possible to expect the situation to worsening for Russia when a series of small and independent states will appear around us," Trofimchuk said.

According to the politician, Russia will not recognize the independence of the unrecognized republics in the territory of the former USSR. "In any cases, Russia, in Medvedev's presidential term, will not recognize the independence of the self-declared republics in the post Soviet territory. All these are words because if a real aim would exist towards such issues, it would be made for long and the words in this case have not meanings," he said.
