Azerbaijan, Baku / Тrend / Ilham Aliyev, the Azerbaijani President was invited to Italy. On 12 December, Pier Luigi Bersani the Italian Economic Development Minister transmitted to the Azerbaijani President the invitation given by Romano Prody, the chair of the Italian Ministerial Council, to pay a visit to Italy.
Bersani noted that the purpose of his visit to Azerbaijan is going to further enhance cooperation between the two countries. Italy may contribute to Azerbaijan's integration with Europe.
The Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev noted a successful development of bilateral relations between the countries. He voiced his hope that the economic cooperation between the two countries would achieve the same level of development as that of political.
