Japanese Government Allocates $172,000 Grant to Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend K.Ramazanova / Azerbaijan and Japan signed a grant agreement for $172mln, which envisages the construction of a school for Azerbaijani refugee children and the improvement of the Karate-Do Association of Azerbaijan.

"The role of representatives of the civil society in the implementation of these projects, is too great", stated Masamitsu Ok, the Japanese Ambassador to Azerbaijan during the signing ceremony of the agreement. 'Green Roots and Human Security' Grant Program of the Japanese Government has been implemented since 2000. This program includes a total of 99 projects, under the total budget of over $6mln.
