Complex Plan on Prevention of Negative Cases in Passenger Transportation Approved

Azerbaijan, Baku, 25 January/ Тrend corr E. Huseynli / On 25 January, a complex plan of measures on prevention of negative cases in passenger transportation was approved at the meeting involving the Administration of the Baku Road Police and the Passenger Transport Department, the head of the Baku Road Police Vagif Asadov said to Trend.

Last year, the drivers engaged in passenger transportation in Baku experienced 135 traffic accidents. As a result, 48 died, 167 suffered injuries. Some 4,000 bus drivers were fined for violation of traffic regulations.

According to Asadov, the meeting also involved entrepreneurs engaged into passenger transportation and they voiced their suggestions and notes. They were informed that the drivers with passengers the number of which exceed the number of seats in the vehicle, who stop the vehicle out of stations and exceed speed norm, will be fined. The entrepreneurs were charged with improving the control for prevention of such cases.

In recent day, 200 buses were removed from operation, 420 taxi drivers were fined, Asadov said.
