Azerbaijan, Baku, 20 February / corr. Trend S. Agayeva/ Kurmanbek Bakiyev, the President of Kyrgyzstan plans to pay an official visit to Azerbaijan in the near future. The visit has initially been fixed for the second quarter of year but the exact data of the visit will be determined later, Iqor Chudinov, the Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan said to Trend on 20 February by email.
"The visit will focus on establishing dialogue with Azerbaijan," the prime minister said.
"There have been no mutual visits between Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan in the last eleven years. Many things have changed in both Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan during this period; however these two fraternal countries are still striving to continue friendly and mutually beneficial ties. Trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian issues will be discussed as well," he said.
The prime minister also said that Kyrgyzstan should think about opening embassies in Baku with accreditation in other Caucasus countries.
