Iran Calls on UN to Annul  Israel’s Right for Membership

Azerbaijan, Baku, 26 April / Trend corr D. Khatinoglu/ Iranian Foreign Minister sent a letter to the UN Secretary General in which he condemned Israel, a members of UN, for military operations against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

The Iranian Embassy in Azerbaijan reported that Iran's Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki in his letter to Ban Ki-moon expressed surprise with indifference of international community and human right organizations towards the 'crimes' committed in Gaza by Israel.

"The Zionist regime cruelly slaughtering Palestinians and involved in organized state terrorism is still a UN member. You understand quite well that this regime is the only country which was conditionally accepted to the UN but has implemented none of the obligations undertaken," Motakki said.

Czech radio Farda reported on 26 April that Israeli officials deny the statements and say that HAMAS movement operating in the Palestine detains at the frontier of Gaza Strip the fuel and food aid going to the population and then states to the international community that Israel allegedly exerts political and economic impact to the Palestinian nation.

BBC reported on 25 April that as a result of Israel's on-going military operations in Gaza Strip, Palestinian population in the area is facing shortage of foodstuffs and medicaments and is experiencing domestic crisis.
