Electoral Rolls Drawn Up in Azerbaijan Enables Transparent Elections in Country – Central Election Committee

Azerbaijan, Baku, 7 May / Trend corr E. Babayev/ The Chairman of the Azerbaijan's Central Election Committee (CEC) said that the electoral rolls drawn up in Azerbaijan enable transparent elections to be held. "The electoral rolls may be considered reliable," Mazahir Panahov, CEC Chairman, said on 7 May.

The Azerbaijan's district and constituency commissions drew up the electoral rolls to be submitted to the CEC. After initial examination the electoral roll of Azerbaijan included 4,683,400 voters.

The presidential elections will be held in Azerbaijan on 15 October.

Panahov said that the CEC will complete the approval of the electoral rolls on 25-27 May. "Due to technical errors being made, exact results cannot be achieved whilst the electoral rolls are being drawn up and further special investigative work is being carried out to prevent such cases," Panahov said.
