Azerbaijani Ruling Party to Build New   Office  Building

Azerbaijan, Baku, 12 May / corr Trend E.Babayev / The ruling New Azerbaijan Party (NAP) intends to build a new office building. "As soon as our budget allows, we will set up this work," MP Mubariz Gurbanly, the Deputy Executive Secretary, told Trend on 12 May.

At present NAP is located in 13, Bulbul Ave.

Gurbanly said that, the budget of NAP is formed through membership fees and financial aids.

The ruling's party's income from the membership fees, collected last year, made up AZN 1,786,182. Some AZN 594,875 was directed at payment of wages of employees involved in the Executive Secretariat and Administrations of the district organizations. AZN 116,000 was spent on financing a international conference on Dialogue of civilizations: role of political parties, AZN 114,000 on events dedicated to 15th anniversary of the party.

During the year AZN 68,000 was spent on the communal, social expenses, including changes for telephone talks and AZN 78,342 on charity events. The remaining funds were directed at the conduct of different party events and other expenses of the party.

Over the year NAP transferred AZN 54,426 in tax payments and AZN 133,333 was remitted to the State Social Security Fund.

In this period 36,754 people entered the NAP, increasing the number of members to 436,539. In 2007 52.9% of NAP members was comprised of youth, constituting 38.8% of all members of the party (169,499 people), 43.3% (189,375) being women.

NAP was established in 1992 in Nakhchivan by the former president Heydar Aliyev. The Party came to power after 6 months of its establishment. President Ilham Aliyev is the present chairman of the NAP.
