PACE to Discuss Rapporteur’s South Caucasus Visit

Maharramli/ "The planned visit of Edward O'Hara, PACE Rapporteur on South Caucasus Cultural Heritage, to the region will be discussed during the summer session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE)," Christopher Grayson, Secretary of the PACE Commission on Culture, Science and Education, said to Trend .

According to Grayson, PACE Secretariat has already sent a request to the Azerbaijani PACE delegation about rapporteur's visit to Azerbaijan. However, the country has not yet responded to it as yet. Grayson said the issue will be again discussed during the June session of PACE involving Azerbaijani, Armenian and Georgian MPs.

The Secretary said they had received the list of monuments they intend to visit. According to him, the document on progress in studying the state of cultural heritage in South Caucasus was discussed at the PACE Commission on Culture, Science and Education, which took place in Paris on 21 May

O'Hara planned to visit South Caucasus at the end of 2005. However, the visit was postponed several times and has not been paid so far.
