PACE Willing to Improve Relations with Russia: Chairman
Strasburg, France, 23 June / corr. Trend A. Maharramli/ The Parliament Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) is willing to improve relations with Russia, Luis Maria de Puig, the chairman of PACE said in the summer session of PACE on 23 June.
"It is obvious that there are improvements in the sphere of democratic institutes in Russia, but there are also some shortcomings," Puig said. According to Puig, the last presidential election in Russia was success. "I am very interested in the ideas of President Medvedev and I may visit Moscow in a month and invite the Russian president to PACE," chairman said.
According to Puig, Russia is under PACE monitoring as other countries and PACE co-reporters will visit Russia in the near future.
