Georgia, Tbilisi, 20 August / Trend corr. N.Kirtskhalia / The United States and NATO are not to isolate Russia. This was said by Condoleezza Rice, the US Secretary of State, at the end of the meeting of NATO member-countries Council of Foreign Ministers in Brussels.

"The issue is that the current actions taken by Russia lead it to isolation, as Russia rejects any partnership and cooperation," Rice said.

"We cannot permit Russia to destroy a sovereign country. We support the democracy in Georgia and it should be a message to Russian President to keep his promises," the US Secretary of State said.

"We cannot tolerate Russia to dictate which country may become the NATO member and which cannot," Rice said.
