Azerbaijan, Baku, 28 August /corr. TrendNews I.Alizade / Military doctrine of Azerbaijan must be prepared only on the basis of the system of NATO, said deputy chairman of Azerbaijan Parliament's standing committee on security and defense, Aydin Mirzazade.

The military doctrine of Azerbaijan must reflect the best principles of NATO and former Soviet system, Mirzazade told Trend on 28 August.

Today work continues on the preparation of the military doctrine of Azerbaijan. The document is expected to be adopted at the autumnal session of Parliament. After the conflict, which occurred between Russia and Georgia, questions rose on the form of the military doctrine of Azerbaijan. If formerly there were plans to reflect the systems of NATO army in the military doctrine of Azerbaijan, after Russian-Georgian conflict there is probability that this policy will change.

The deputy chairman of the committee said that to ensure its security, Azerbaijan selects the most correct and most effective principles.
"NATO is not only military organization, but it builds security system in the world. Therefore, Azerbaijan's co-operation with NATO is important, but relations with the former Soviet republics and use of their potential and experience are important," added Mirzazade.
