Georgian President to Present Annual Report to Parliament Today

Georgia, Tbilisi, 16 September / Trend corr. N.Kirtskhalia/ "Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili will present an annual report at country's parliament today. An emergency meeting will take place at the Georgian Parliament. Saakashvili will appear at 20:00," Speaker of the Georgian Parliament David Bakradze said on 16 September.

"President will speak to the Parliament and will voice his view on settlement of country's problems, on overpassing of the consequences resulting from Russian aggression," he said. The meeting will last an hour. President's speech does not envisage question-answer format, though the opposition insisted on debates.

The current week is intended for parliamentary hearings. Therefore, today's meeting will be a special one. The content of president's speech is not available. It is not known whether the meeting will be open or private.
