Russia Not Needs Confrontation: Russian President

Azerbaijan, Baku, 8 October/ Trend , corr V. Zhavoronkova/ Russia does not need confrontation, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said at a press conference on world policy in Evian (France).

їOur development is possible only in conditions of transparent international relations. Now we should come down and refuse confrontation. Exchange of politeness took place several times and everyone was convinced that confrontation does not promise anything,ї Medvedev said.

Latest developments in Caucasus demonstrated that it is impossible to pacify or confine aggression. It also shows that international security system based on unipolarity is not efficient, President said.

їMissile defense system is being installed in three regions of Czech Republic and Poland. Why? None of these countries pose any threat for Europe. It contradicts our security. It prompts immediate reaction. We want our logic to be clear- we do not want confrontation,ї President said.
