Georgia, Tbilisi, 9 October /corr. Trend N.Kirtskhalia / Russia implemented only the first item of Sarkozy-Medvedev Agreement and now it is turn to fulfill the second - introduction of the observers of the European Union into zones of conflict - Abkhazia and South Ossetia, the Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia David Bakradze briefed the media.
їThis agreement envisages the return to the status quo as per 7 August that indicates the withdrawal of Russian subdivisions from the separatist regions, where until now, 1,500 peacemakers were in Abkhazia and 500 in South Ossetia,ї he said.
їSo the
agreement envisages withdrawal of the separatists from these zones, otherwise,
the ceasefire agreement will not be considered executed,ї said Bakradze.
The agreement assumes high political importance for Russia, and it does not have the right to break it, the Speaker said. їOf course, the
separatists protest against it, but gradually they must implement this,ї Bakradze
said.
