Azerbaijani Opposition Presidential Candidate Strives for Second Round (video)
Azerbaijan, Baku, 15 October / Trend corr. J.Babayeva/ Fazil Gazanfaroglu, Azerbaijani presidential candidate from the opposition Great Establishment Party, voted at election area 2 of the Sabunchu district's constituency 27 in Baku.
A total of 1,489 electors are registered in the election area, with 680 of them already voted.
"Elections had been normally running by the moment I voted at 14.30 [local time]. The voters are active. If the things go on the same way, I hope to gain chance to pass to the second round of the elections," Gazanfaroglu said to journalists.
Seven candidates take part in the elections, including Ilham Aliyev, chairman of ruling New Azerbaijan Party; Igbal Agazade, chairman of opposition Umid (Hope) Party; Fazil Gazanfaroglu, chairman of Great Establishment Party; Gudrat Hasanguliyev, chairman of Unified Popular Front Party; Hafiz Hajiyev, chairman of Muasir Musavat Party; Fuad Aliyev, chairman of Liberal Democrat Party and independent candidate Gulamhuseyn Alibayli.
