Azerbaijan, Baku, 15 October / Trend corr.R.Hafizoglu /Sayad Aran, Azerbaijani Consul General in Istanbul, said to Trend that 93% of electorates took part in the voting. The polling station was opened in the Azerbaijani Consulate in Istanbul.
Some 502 Azerbaijanis out of 551, who reside in Istanbul, participated in the elections, said the Consul General.
Seven candidates participated in the 15 October presidential elections, including Ilham Aliyev, chairman of ruling New Azerbaijan Party; Igbal Agazade, chairman of opposition Umid (Hope) Party; Fazil Gazanfaroglu, chairman of Great Establishment Party; Gudrat Hasanguliyev, chairman of Unified Popular Front Party; Hafiz Hajiyev, chairman of Muasir Musavat Party; Fuad Aliyev, chairman of Liberal Democrat Party and independent candidate Gulamhuseyn Alibayli.
