Voting will take place at the United Nations (UN) on 17 October on Iran's temporary membership at the Security Council of the organization, IRINN news website reported.
Main rival of Iran in this group is Japan. It is necessary to gain minimum 128 votes of representatives of 192 countries to win a seat at the UN Security Council. Iran will be one of 15 member-countries of the UN Security Council, if it is elected.
Five temporary members of the Security Council are elected annually.
