Azerbaijan, Baku, 20 October / Trend / On 20 October the
President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, received the Ambassador of Belgium to
Azerbaijan Frank Geerkens who is completing his diplomatic mission in the
country.
The Ambassador congratulated Ilham Aliyev on his victory in the presidential
election and wished him robust health.
President Aliyev, in his turn, expressed gratitude to the Ambassador for his
congratulations.
He stressed relationships between Azerbaijan and Belgium were successfully enhancing.
Ilham Aliyev described the level of bilateral cooperation in various spheres as
"good".
The Head of State also stressed the importance of opening Belgium`s Embassy in
Baku for expanding relations even more.
The Ambassador noted opening of his country`s Embassy in Azerbaijan creates a
solid foundation for deepening relationships.
Ilham Aliyev also stressed the work of Frank Girkens in solidifying relations
between the two countries.
He also expressed his confidence Azerbaijan-Belgium relationships would further
continue to enhance.
