Iran makes efforts to solve problems in  Caucasus without use of force, says Foreign Minister (UPDATED)

Iran, Tehran, November 19/ Trend , corr T. Jafarov/ Iran makes efforts to solve problems in Caucasus without use of force, Foreign Minister of Iran Manuchehr Mottaki told press conference for foreign journalists.

Minister said foreign ministry officials have held consultations in order to involve countries in the region, Europe as well to the solution of these problems. " Iran seeks to solve these problems realistically and in a fair way," he said.

Iranian Foreign Minister said today everybody is concerned over problems in the Caucasus. Part of the problems is so many-sided that on one hand the problems between countries and on the other hand problems related with securing territorial integrity must be solved. Presence of these problems deals a blow to cooperation in the sphere of energy, cargo transportation and economic ties as a whole. Mottaki said.

Minister expressed his satisfaction with the positive assessment of Iran's initiative by countries and positive changes in Georgia-Russia re relations. "We want the events to develop in this way," Mottaki said.
