European Ministers of Culture to Sign Baku Declaration

Azerbaijan, Baku, November 26/ Trend , corr N. Abdullayeva/ Baku conference of ministers of culture of the European countries will allow to shift from theory of dialogue to practice.

The conference Intercultural Dialogue as Basis for Peaceful Co-existence and Sustainable Development in Europe and Neighboring Regions to take place in Baku on December 2-3, is a continuation of a White Book of the Council of Europe (CE) on intercultural dialogue published in May, 2008, CE office in Azerbaijan said to Trend .

Intercultural dialogue is one of the priorities of the 2005 Warsaw meeting of heads of states and governments.

Representatives of 49 states party to European Cultural Convention and ministers of several member states of Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALESCO), Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) will take part in the conference at the initiative of Azerbaijan.

The conference will focus on White Book of the Council of Europe on Intercultural Dialogue - from universal values to actions on local level; Cultural policy (programs and initiatives) and intercultural dialogue: new concepts in managing diverse cultures; Heritage and intercultural dialogue - from national heritage to world heritage. The meeting is expected to end up with Baku Declaration.
