World Akhiska Turks Hold Meeting in Ankara

Repatriation of Akhiska Turks and the unification of Akhiska Turks organizations separately functioning worldwide into one confederation were discussed during the meeting in Ankara, Ismikhanogli said.
Thus, 42 leaders and the representatives of federations, communities, cultural centers from Azerbaijan, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Ukraine and other countries took part at the meeting.
During the long discussions and proposals, Ismikhanogli, the head of the Kazakhstan national centre of Akhiska Turks, which is lobbied by the Turkish government, was elected the chairman of the World Council of Akhiska Turks Confederation.
The office for the central headquarters of the Akhiska Turks Council has opened in Ankara, Ismikhanogli told Trend . Ayfer Aksu, the Turkish representative of ALTIN KORPU and TURKEL magazines set up to the work as the coordinator of the Council.
"The assistants will be elected on the regions of Central Asia, Caucasus-Turkey and Europe-US for the close communication between Akhiska Turks living in different parts of the world which are in the close ties with the centre," Ismikhanogli said.
