Azerbaijani Government Prepared for Dialogue with Opposition: First Vice Speaker
Azerbaijan, Baku, 11 Dec/ Trend corr J. Babayeva, I. Alizade/ Azerbaijani government is always prepared for dialogue with the opposition.
"Azerbaijani President has announced that the government is always prepared for dialogue," Ziyafat Asgarov, first vice speaker of Azerbaijani parliament, said to reporters.
Opposition, governing and pro-government parties held several meetings with the mediation of the OSCE Baku office prior to the 2005 parliamentary election. The efforts to continue dialogue failed. Several opposition parties supported NAP candidate in the 15 Oct presidential election. NAP's dialogue with these parties stands on agenda once again after presidential election.
MP Siyavush Novruzov, deputy executive secretary of governing New Azerbaijan Party, said to Trend that the party is prepared for dialogue with opposition without any terms.
Azerbaijani intellectuals have announced they are prepared to achieve dialogue between government and opposition.
Asgarov said the issues to be discussed by the government and opposition must be defined.
