Residents of many cities in Iran held protest demonstrations against blockade of the Gaza Strip. The demonstrators chanted sharp anti-Israeli and anti-American slogans.
Demonstrators with the photos of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Ali Khamenei, Khomeini, and Hasan Nasrallah gathered by a mosque, said Fars news agency. Demanding a right to jihad (holy war), they burned the pictures of the leaders of Saudi Arabia and Egypt.
In early November, Israeli town of Ashkelon came under continuous rocket fire from Gaza. In response, Israel has been keeping Gaza in blockade for over a month.
