Afghanistan, Kabul, Dec. 25 / Trend , A.Hakimi/ Afghanistan and Tajikistan parliaments ratified prisoners exchange agreement.
Afghan Ambassador to Tajikistan said Mohammad Khairkhoh signed a prisoners` exchange agreement with Tajik Authorities.
Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs says the agreement was signed between two countries in Dushanbe, capital of Tajikistan, on Dec 24, 2008.
According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the agreement was ratified by both countries` parliaments.
According to the agreement, the two countries agreed to exchange their prisoners for further serving sentence in their countries.
Yet, the dateline for starting prisoner exchange wasn't announced by the two countries.
According to Afghan official, more than 200 Afghan inmates are jailed in Tajikistan.
It has been told that most of them are smugglers.
