Candidate to post of Georgian prime minister advised to undergo medical examination

Representative of the Georgian parliamentary majority Fridon Todua advised candidate to the post of the Prime Minister Nikoloz Giluari to undergo a medical examination before assuming office.

Todua said the medical examination is necessary to avoid future problems.

Member of the New Rights party Mamuka Katsitadze agreed that Giluri should undergo the examination. He added that Giluari should see a doctor before assuming office to avoid a repeat scenario of current Prime Minister Grigol Mgaloblishvili's tenure.

Mgaloblishvili recently announced his resignation due to health problems. He missed extended periods due to kidney failure and subsequent treatment in Georgia and Germany.
