Azerbaijan Greens Party likely to partake in municipal elections as bloc
Azerbaijan, Baku, Feb. 6 / Trend , J.Babayeva/
The Azerbaijan Greens Party (AGP) may take part in municipal elections as a bloc.
"Despite serious differences between political views of the Greens and other parties, we can participate in the elections in composition of bloc," AGP Chairman Mais Gulaliyev told Trend on Feb. 5.
The municipal elections will take place in Azerbaijan in 2009. The Azerbaijan Greens Party was formed in 2007 and did not pass state registration.
Gulaliyev said that absence of state registration will create difficulties for the party to participate in the municipal elections. "We hope the party will be registered by the elections. The AGP is conducting active activity, clear strategy and developing international relations. Therefore, there are not any grounds for its non-registration," he said.
The chairman said that the AGP together with the Georgian Greens Party will hold enlightenment action on ecological problems of the Kur river in Ganja city in March.
