TIKA aids Kyrgyzstan schools

Official ceremony of technical equipment delivery was held in Naryn region of Kyrgyzstan on Feb. 6.

Turkish International Cooperation and Development Agency (TIKA) under Turkish Prime Minister's Office delivered technical equipment to Naryn administration. The equipment was purchased as part of project on rehabilitation of heating and lighting systems in elementary and secondary schools in Naryn region of Kyrgyzstan.

The project was implemented jointly with the Naryn administration. Purchased equipment includes electric pumps, generators, heating boilers, etc. The equipment is designated for 43 province, region and settlement schools in Naryn.

TIKA Program Coordinator in Kyrgyzstan Bekir Demir, Deputy Coordinator Mehmet Bodur, Advisor on Culture to the Turkish embassy in Kyrgyzstan Soner Shahin represented Turkey and Naryn Governor O. Suvanaliyev, state administration responsible employees, school principals represented Kyrgyzstan at the ceremony.

TIKA is engaged in rendering technical assistance. The organization has been operating in Kyrgyzstan since 1992. TIKA is realizing economic, trade, technical, educational, social and cultural programs and cooperation projects. TIKA spent roughly $18 million in Kyrgyzstan over 1992-2008.
