Azerbaijan, Baku, Feb. 12 / Trend , J.Babayeva/

Most observers registered to monitor referendum in Azerbaijan are individuals.

"A total of 354 observers have been registered over the country and more than 2,300 at constituencies to monitor the referendum. Most of the registered observers are individuals," Azerbaijan Central Election Commission (CEC) Law Department head Irada Hajieva told Trend on Feb. 21.

Azerbaijan will hold a referendum on March 18 to amend 29 Articles of the Constitution.

The CEC registered the New Azerbaijan Party, City, Progress, Law and Democracy, Civil Society, For Sustainable Development, Intellect, Movement for Garabag and Republic, and Republicans agitation initiative groups. The Prosperous Village, Free Speech, People's Republic of Azerbaijan and Azerbaijan National Independence groups failed to pass registration.

The Constitution was adopted in 1995. Amendments and additions were made in 2002.

Registration of referendum monitors at the Central Election Commission will be completed 10 days before the vote, and at constituencies within 5 days before the vote, said Hajiyeva.
