Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov proposed holding a scientific forum on the culture of the Ancient East with Iran. Berdymuhamedov made the offer in Teheran, the Miras channel reported.
The president said the two countries must expand their educational, scientific and cultural contacts, as they share deep historical roots. Berdymuhamedov then proposed holding a joint Turkmen-Iranian architectural forum later this year.
Turkmenistan and Iran regularly hold joint cultural events and festivals. Turkmenistan hosted an Iranian cinema week last year, as well as an exhibition of Iranian goods.
