Georgian Reintegration State Minister Office urges for international organizations reaction

Georgian Reintegration State Minister Office is concerned about beating and wounding Otobaya native village Irakly Bigvava by separatists.

Abkhaz separatists beaten and shot an Otobaya village native Irakliy Bigvava in the Gali region on Feb. 25. Then he passed to Georgia-controlled territory, the office said in a message.

The separatists forced population out from the Otobaya village.

"Incidents once again highlight the plight of the Georgian population in the territory controlled by the occupiers. Human rights are grossly violated there. Such incidents reflect a deliberate attempt to evict [Georgian] population. This is unacceptable.

We believe that presence of international monitoring missions in the occupied territories is very important to suspend and avoid such incidents, the office said.

The office called on the UN, OSCE and other international organizations to immediately react in connection with this fact.
